What Germany Sees

2010/11/05

Some simple graphics from Germany’s Der Speigel mag.  The graphs aren’t anything new, but it is noteworthy that this is what Germans are deeply concerned about.

Der Spiegel:  Nation in Debt

Now the really inexplicable part comes in as German/European worry over our finances intersects with their dismay over Obama’s self-described “shellacking” in the midterms and the rise of the Tea Party.  The Euros seem not to grasp the connection between building the nanny-state and the cost to do so.

Is it hyperbole to say that the last European to really, really understand America was Tocqueville?
